img_160201_primaryWith it’s unobstructed views of the Columbia River and both Tri-City bridges, there’s no better place to wind down on a Wednesday than The Cedars Restaurant. There will be cocktails, conversation, friendly people and greeters! A true mixer. Come alone or with friends/co-workers, you’re guaranteed to meet a lot of friendly people while you’re there.

We’ll meet in the bar (head past the bar toward the patio doors. We’ve reserved the alcove to the right with the tall tables). We will have greeters at the event. They are there to meet everyone attending and make introductions amongst all the guests.

So join us! It’s a great way to socialize and meet some new people in a fun location that’s a staple of the Tri-Cities social scene.

trivialTC-SSC and 97.5 COOL FM have partnered (and stepped) up to serve the sadly underquizzed residents of the Tri-Cities every other Thursday night from 7:30 – 10:00pm at Jack-son’s Richland. We’ve had an incredible turnout so far, and hope that you come check it out!

RSVP HERE: http://www.meetup.com/TC-SSC/calendar/11726817/

Team sign-ups start at 7:30pm with gameplay starting around 8pm (or when the natives start getting restless).

Here’s what you need to know:
– Trivia Night covers everything from celebrities in trouble to local lore to bad television.

- Play in teams of up to six (teams over/under 4 get handicapped) or by yourself if you’re some kind of savant.

- If you want to play but don’t have a team, come anyway. We shouldn’t have a problem getting single players recruited onto an existing team.

- Winning team gets street cred, bar cash and other prizes depending on the evening.

- You don’t have to be a trivia God to enjoy the quiz. Since you’re playing on a team, the collective knowledge base makes for more fun, less pressure. It’s not Final friggin Jeopardy :)

Here’s the basics:

- Each table forms a team and selects its team name. Each team will have a trivia sheet that they will use to fill out their answers.

- Teams can be any size (from singles to large groups) – but there is a handicapping system.

- There are six category rounds (each with its own theme) and around 10 questions per round.

- Each question will be announced by the trivia host, and groups will have time to talk within their team and write down an answer before moving on.

- After the round is complete, teams will “trade up” their score sheet with another group for grading (think elementary school….pass it back :) ). If a group feels they should receive credit, they can feel free to argue their case with the trivia host, who will make the final call.

- After three rounds, we’ll take a 15 (or so) minute break so we can grab another beer (or two) and bitch about how stupid (or savant-like) we all are.

- The Top 3 scoring teams will win bragging rights and some fun prizes from the Jackson’s…and will be our Reigning Champions!!

It’s time to get our funny on! Since sarcasm reigns supreme at most of our events, we thought we would make comedy at Jack Didley’s in downtown Kennewick a monthly event. Come in early for a great dinner, enjoy the show and stay for dancing and music afterward!!!

Here’s the deets on the night’s headliner, Kevin Downey Jr. :

Comedian, columnist Kevin Downey, Jr. has been recently labeled, “refreshingly bizarre” by fellow comedian Joe Mulligan. Kevin headlined small rooms all over the U.S. and enjoyed a “cult” following, (that means only 28 people dug him), until his frequent and on-going bookings at the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and Atlantic City, which has brought him to a new level of notoriety. Kevin now works “A” clubs everywhere, and to larger and larger audiences.

Today Kevin is headlining clubs everywhere in the U.S. He can be heard on The Bob and Tom Show, Sirius and XM Satellite radio regularly. He’s been on Comedy Central, What Not to Wear, and Queer Eye for the Straight Guy where he got a much needed haircut. Kevin appears at the Comedy Stop at the Tropicana in Las Vegas at least four times per year. He has an ever-growing fan base that comes to see him again and again. He writes a column called, “Drinking on $11 a Night”, which can be read in Bachelor Pad Magazine, GC magazine, at usedwigs.com and drinkingon11.com. Kevin’s song, “Secret Garden of Dirty Little Whores, (who think they’re better than me)”, can be heard on college and traditional radio stations throughout the country. He has a nationally released DVD called, “I’m not Gay, but Dont Stop” which can be found on Amazon and Netflix Kevin is not related to Robert Downey, Jr. Retrocession typography leadresistance arriving overinvest unsparing aquiline pleiotaxy adumbrative uncivil!

TCSSCSinglesUnlockGallery

TCSSC Singles is excited to announce our December Singles Mixer, ‘Unlock your Love Life’! This interactive social mixer encourages each person to find their match (or matches) amongst a group of amazing Tri-Cities Singles!

It works like this . . .

  • Every female attendee receives a lock. Every male attendee receives a key. The object is to find the Lock that fits the Key and the Key that fits the Lock!
  • All you need to do is get to know as many people at the party as possible and, of course, try to make a match. (HINT: If you stand still, someone will approach you)
  • The object is to find as many “Matches” as possible. Each time a “Match” is made, both are entered into the prize drawing and then sent out with a new set of Hardware – to try it all over again!
  • Of course, the more “Matches” that you find, the better chances you have of winning prizes.
  • Have questions?  Email us at singles@tc-ssc.com
  • Want to pass on the word?  Download a flyer and post it around town!

You’re guaranteed to meet most if not all of the guests at the party. You won’t go away from this event only meeting a few people …

Here, you’ll meet them all!

PRIZES!
Every time you unlock, you can win prizes such as:

Most events have a suggested age range. The majority of people attending fit into the suggested age range but people from 21 through their 50’s attend our parties.
